Lift-Off International Film Festival has selected my short film SHARE to be part of their prestigious line up of true independent cinema at this years Los Angeles Lift-Off 2014! It’s the first project I’ve written and directed myself, and it’s incredibly exciting to finally be getting it out in front of audiences.
Selected out of 700+ global entrants, my film will screen at the prestigious Los Angeles Lift-Off Film Festival, an indie event held annually in Venice Beach, California on September 4th, 2014. The screening forms part of the wider Lift-Off International Film Festivals, which have live indie screenings in four transatlantic cities held quarterly throughout the year.
The festivals motto is:
Look beyond the gloss. Put talent before technology.
At the event all of the films will be scored by the attending audience, where the winners are then screened at all three proceeding transatlantic events, with the ultimate aim to give filmmakers like me the best exposure possible as they embark on their continued artistic journeys.
James Alexander, Co-Director and Co-Founder of Lift-Off says…
“Getting into any Lift-Off Film Festival is a massive achievement. The world of independent film has grown so much over the years that many of the grass rooted filmmakers and emerging professionals are left without much of a platform any more. We felt that many of these artists who were producing exceptional work were being hugely ignored – and deserved to be seen!”
I’m incredibly excited to have my Kickstarter funded film screening at this event. My intention in writing and directing SHARE was to get my name out there and provide a solid example of the types of film’s I want to be creating throughout my career.
SHARE will screen on Thursday, September 4th between 7-9pm. There will be a panel with all the filmmakers in attendance (myself included) afterwards.
Los Angeles Lift-Off Film Festival is held at the Beyond Baroque Literary Arts Centre September 4th-6th Thurs-Saturday from 7-9.30pm.
