The Shoot Out Boulder – 24 Hour Filmmaking Festival – Love’s Invitation

September 29, 2009

My role(s) , ,

The Shoot Out 24 Hour Film-making Festival is a Boulder favorite going on 7 years! . For the 2009 festival I joined the team and crew behind Sex, God, Rock ‘n Roll to whip out a short film in 24 hours. I shot the film on my trusty DVX100a, all in-camera. The film, “Love’s Invitation”, placed in the Top Ten and our directors won the award for Best Screenplay.
The shoot-out’s special requirements can be summarized as followed:

* It was shot in 24 hours!
* There was NO EDITING. You had to do “in-camera” editing, which basically means – shoot a scene, keep it or rewind the tape, shoot it again, move to the next scene!
* We had to use 5 out of 11 possible items in our film, which we didn’t find out until the start of the 24 hours.
* Had to be 7 minutes or less, including title and credits.
* We didn’t do any post on the audio except the music and the voiceover.
